About
the
NanoFIB
network

This EPSRC network
is set up to link together people with common interests in the nano-processing
and nanoanalysis of materials using focused ion beams (FIB). Membership
is open to everybody.
The Network aims
:
1. To be a U.K.-based
forum, holding regular scientific discussion meetings for the synergistic
transfer of technology and scientific ideas between academic FIB users,
industrial users and FIB system suppliers.
2. To establish a central UK website on FIB.
3. To pin-point, and help develop the most exciting applications of
FIB in key targeted areas including (i) nanofabrication, (ii) microstructural
analysis of nanomaterials, and (iii) novel instrumental and technique
development.
4. To encourage collaborative research between Network members, with
the establishment of joint research programmes and research proposal
submissions.
5. To link young scientific researchers working in the growing FIB
nanotechnology field more closely to UK industry, broadening their
scientific and technological skills.
